Kaarin Shipitko

Kaarin Shipitko came to Pilates through her career as a professional ballet dancer. After a serious injury, she started taking classes and fell in love with all Pilates had to offer. After dancing in the U.S. and Russia she decided that she wanted to be able to share the benefits she found in Pilates with others and began training to teach at Pilates Academy International in New York City. Kaarin loves that Pilates can be adapted to different bodies and fitness levels making it an ideal fitness method no matter where you are in your life. She focuses her classes on getting a good workout while maintaining alignment and increasing the students’ awareness of their own bodies.

Kaarin is passionate about teaching both Pilates and Ballet to adults and children and loves seeing all her students make connections between their mind and body. Kaarin is also a Kinetic Awareness Teaching Candidate under Master Kinetic Awareness Teacher, Dr. Robin Powell. Kinetic Awareness is a body awareness technique that Kaarin was drawn to because of its focus on anatomy, alignment, and releasing frozen tension. She is working towards finishing her training in this method and enjoys incorporating it’s principals of awareness, efficient movement, and breath into her Pilates and dance classes.

Kaarin is new to Vermont and is very excited to be teaching at Shelburne Field House. When she is not teaching she enjoys dancing, cooking, and spending time with her family.
